Today's Photo

Pearl

Title: Pearl
This is from the last roll available. Our trip to Idaho to meet the lads. Brand New People. January 2007.

All the data from the black mac is gone. All the documents, tax files, bicycle files, food and wine files, all GG's school files, music (replaceable, the ipod doesn't leave the house till then), all the shit aquired on a computer by Two people.

All the photos; travel photos, my sister's wedding, all the beautiful people in our lives, all the children, who grow so fast.

Two and half years, gone.

I am trying to feel a clensing. It works on, say, the bookmarks that are lost. I was reading way too many blogs and sites. I'll find the ones I really want. Although, I had shit being saved for the blogs, ideas on hold. Whatever, I have half a mind to disappear from the Blahgateria, but I've found I enjoy a lot of it. Especially the foodfights (I'll have my ball and shoes when we hit the PDX, Bitches).

Back your shit up People, or you just might lose your shit.
Can't be losing your shit.

Shit.

I have lost a day or two at work (when I worked). I learned: back up, back up, back up. Computers are not forever.
Also, keep in mind that the computer programs and formats 20 years from now will be so different that all your stuff will be obsolete, because the new modern computers won't recognize it, won't be able to read it. ...now that the horse has already left the barn.

Yeah, that's already happened to me. Discs of HugeFile pics of the Grand Canyon, that aren't recognized on modern computers. Gotta find that supergeek with vintage systems set up in his basement. He probably lives down the street and works at Pixar.

almost killed mine two weeks ago. glad I didn't now. there is good on the net, just need to step back at times.

I fear for our laptop in the hands of wife and daughter. shit isn't backed up and they're heavy fisted users.

Also shocked to find out that you visited us in Idaho in 2002, and that The Lads are 7 years old.
